What is Two Factor Authentication? – And Why You Should Use It
Whether it’s in your Google account, your Microsoft account, or one of zillions of other online services, we all have a ton of important information saved in our online accounts. That’s why we should take every precaution to protect access to our accounts. One of the best ways to do that is to use two-factor authentication.
Two-factor authentication is the topic of the latest video released by Common Craft. The video explains what two-factor authentication is, its various forms, how it works, and why you should use it whenever it is available.
I use two-factor authentication on all of my accounts. At times it can be a complete pain in the butt, but it’s better than having one of my accounts compromised. It’s important for teachers and students who work in schools that ban cell phones to note that many services require receiving a text message in order for two-factor authentication to work.
