Practical Ed Tech Tip of the Week – 5 Good Tools for Creating Audio Recordings Online

One of my favorite blogging activities to do with students doesn’t involve writing. Creating and sharing short audio recordings can be a great way to have students reflect on what they’ve observed and learned in your classroom. Those recordings can then be posted in your classroom blog.  Another take on this exercise is to have students make audio recordings of interviews with classmates, parents, or people that they meet on a job shadow trip. The StoryCorps Question Generator can help students format questions for those interviews. There are five browser-based tools that I frequently recommend for creating audio recordings.

In the playlist embedded below I demonstrate how to use five browser-based audio creation and editing tools. Those tools are Twisted Wave which saves to Google Drive, Vocaroo which is the simplest of the tools in this list, SoundCloud which still offers browser-based recording even though the mobile apps don’t, AudioPal, and AudioBoom.
