Lowest Price I’ve Ever Seen for a New iPad – $249!

Last week I wrote about how I updated my four year old iPad for $40 off the regular price when I saw that Amazon had them on sale for $289. I didn’t expect that deal to last long. I was wrong, but wrong in a good way for those who didn’t act last week.

This morning I checked Amazon to see if iPads had gone back to regular price. Not only did it not go back to regular price, it has gone down again. As of this morning (December 10th) you can get a new, current generation iPad for $249!

Should you update your iPad?

As I wrote last week, if I was in a different line of work I would have held kept using my old iPad until it met its demise at the hands of one of my toddlers. But my old iPad doesn’t support many of the latest augmented reality and virtually reality apps. The new generation of iPads offer more storage at a lower price too.

If you want to experience all of the latest iOS features including some of the incredible AR and VR apps that are emerging, then upgrading your iPad for $249 this week is a great deal. If you are always running out of storage on your old iPad, now is a great time to update at a great price too. But if those conditions don’t describe you, then there’s probably not a compelling reason to upgrade other than to say you got a great deal.
