Refunds for Courses and Digital Products

What is provided through Practical Ed Tech courses is intellectual content via emails, videos, diagrams, and documents. Much of which can be pirated by someone who registers for an on-demand course and then immediately asks for a refund. Not that you would do that, but some people do (seriously, someone once watched ten seconds of webinar recording and then asked for a refund). Therefore, taking a return isn’t exactly possible. Think of it this way, that’s like buying a book at the local bookshop taking it home, reading it, making photocopies of it for your friends and then returning the book to the shop. That’s not exactly fair to the shop owner.

All that said, if you feel like you didn’t get what was promised, I will do everything I can to make it right. I’m a nice guy and I really don’t want you to feel misled. That said, I also think it’s reasonable for you to let me know within 7 days of a purchase that you aren’t happy with what you purchased in order for me to provide any sort of refund.

Above all, I respond well to polite, reasonable requests and want you to find my products useful. In short, send me a note and we’ll work it out.

Refunds for in-person workshops, conferences, and other events.

In most cases a significant financial commitment is made to the event venue 30 days prior to an in-person workshop. Therefore, under no circumstance will refunds or other credits be given for cancellations received less than 31 days prior to the start of in-person event. You may, however, transfer your registration to someone else if you notify Richard Byrne (richard at byrne.media) in writing prior to the start of the event. Refunds of 50% of registration cost will be granted for cancellations received 30-60 days prior to the start of an in-person event.

Acceptance of Purchase Orders

Purchase Orders are a colossal pain in the butt for everyone involved in the process. If you insist upon using a purchase order to register for a course, webinar, or in-person event you agree to pay a $50.00 USD processing fee. This fee is waived if you have five or more people from the same organization registering for the same course, webinar, or event at the same time. In all cases payment must be received by Byrne Instructional Media, LLC before you will be granted access to a course, webinar, or in-person event.

Your registration and use of the site and products

You agree that you’ll pay the registration fee and any required taxes in order to get access courses. If it is discovered that you have knowingly allowed someone else to utilize your account to access fee-required products, your access to the site and all products will be immediately terminated.

Except in clearly labeled cases of custom work for organizations, your registration fee for a course or payment for a download entitles you and you only to access the materials. You may not reproduce or redistribute any of content within the products offered by Byrne Instructional Media, LLC without express, written permission of Richard Byrne.

Registration and access to online courses, webinars, and in-person events by anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited.
