A Fun Activity for Geography Awareness Week

This week is Geography Awareness Week. If you’re looking for a fun and challenging geography activity to use in your middle school or high school social studies class this week, take a look Around the World With Google Earth.

Around the World With Google Earth is loosely based on the concept of television show, The Amazing Race. In the activity students are given seven clues that they have to use to find seven locations around the world. When they find those locations they have to add placemarks to those locations in a Google Earth project. They then have to complete a task. Evidence of completing the task has to be added to each placemark.
